How BlogTalk with MJ Racadio Became the Launchpad for Social Dragon PR's Global Success - Social Dragon PR

When I launched BlogTalk with MJ Racadio back in 2014, I didn’t have a big studio or professional equipment. Armed only with a mobile phone and a deep passion to tell meaningful stories, I stepped onto Hollywood red carpets surrounded by reporters with flashy cameras. Yet I was determined to capture inspiring moments, spotlighting Filipino Americans and global icons one interview at a time. Eleven years later, BlogTalk has evolved into more than a platform — it became the spark that gave birth to Social Dragon PR.

BlogTalk taught me how to navigate the entertainment industry’s biggest stages, connect authentically with artists and brands, and create visibility even with limited resources. These lessons formed the DNA of Social Dragon PR’s services today: powerful storytelling, heartfelt connections, and strategic media exposure.

Humble Beginnings: Courage with a Mobile Phone

One of my earliest milestones was covering Anne Curtis at the Blood Ransom premiere in Hollywood. I had only my phone, but that didn’t stop me from getting the story.

Soon after, I interviewed Flo Rida at Miss Universe Manila, diving into his excitement about visiting the Philippines. Even without professional gear, I realized that passion and preparation could open doors.

Stepping Up: First Red Carpet Interviews with a Custom Mic

Determined to level up, I crafted my own “mock mic” with a BlogTalk mic box. That move gave me the confidence to interview Steve Harvey and Ashley Graham at the Miss Universe Press Junket.

Holding that mic, I wasn’t just recording an interview — I was building credibility for BlogTalk and what would later become Social Dragon PR’s approach: present like a pro, even when you’re building from scratch.

Mastering the Mobile Rig: Exclusive One-on-One Interviews

As BlogTalk grew, so did my setup. I invested in a full mobile rig with lighting and sound, enabling me to produce even sharper content. This allowed me to conduct exclusive one-on-one interviews with:

Tia Carrere, sharing her journey from “Wayne’s World” to Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Septimius The Great, revealing secrets on breaking into the music industry.

Olivia Quido, celebrating her rise to Vice President of the Miss Universe Organization.

Grammy-winning group All-4-One in a never-before-seen sit-down.

Bretman Rock, where we connected proudly in Ilocano.

Each conversation was not just an interview — it was a relationship, a door opened, and a community inspired.

Covering Global Icons on the Big Stage

Beyond one-on-ones, my mobile rig allowed BlogTalk to cover major Hollywood events. I captured powerful moments from:

Ron Howard’s Thirteen Lives Q&A

Jo Koy’s surprise appearance during When We Danced

Greta Gerwig’s insights post-Barbie screening

Jon Bon Jovi’s premiere of Thank You, Good Night

Red carpet coverage of the Hello, Love Again cast

BlogTalk consistently stood shoulder-to-shoulder with global media outlets, proudly representing Filipino excellence.

Virtual Milestones: Conversations that Transcend Borders

During the pandemic and beyond, BlogTalk adapted through virtual interviews. I spoke with Martin Nievera about four decades of music.

And with Golden Globe nominee Dolly De Leon about breaking barriers for Filipinos in Hollywood.

Distance was no obstacle to powerful storytelling.
